At Simply Homecare, our ethos is to keep things simple. Our over-riding principle is that we care.
WE CARE ABOUT OUR SERVICE USERS
We aim to provide well-trained staff to deliver quality care in a way that fits with your routine. We want to be able to look after you as though you were one of our own family. If we feel that we cannot meet your needs we will say so, as we do not want to let you down. Every service user is looked after by a team of 2-4 carers, so that if one carer is away there are still familiar faces there to deliver your care. We allow time in our rotas for staff to travel between calls, so you always receive your full care time.
WE CARE ABOUT OUR STAFF
We believe that our staff are well trained, well-equipped and well rewarded. All new staff are provided with whatever training they need to get started. Then, regular update training and further development training is provided throughout time employed by Simply Homecare. Hours are flexible and, as far as possible, rotas are matched to chosen work patterns. Staff are not out of pocket for work expenses: travel time is work time, including the journey from home to the first call and all staff are provided with a mobile phone to use for work calls. Every member of staff is expected to take their full paid holiday entitlement.
CARE QUALITY COMMISSION
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and we welcomed their inspection in August 2016 as an opportunity to learn where we might improve. The area we were asked to improve was our policy and training on the prompting and administering of medication. Following their advice, our medication policy has been re-written and every member of staff re-trained on medications. CQC have approved our new policy, which can be read HERE.
